About:
The plugin uses DcRaw an open source utility written by Dave Coffin, this utility is probably one of the best raw file converters available. A list of supported cameras can be found on Dave Coffin's DcRaw page. The windows binaries used, is compiled by Bennis Welt, he has multiple versions of the optimized binaries available for download.
In the current version only a simple DcRaw configuration dialog is available, we're currently working on a more user friendly configuration dialog and preview of thumbnails, embedded in some raw images, is also in the making. We also have plans for preview of the actual converted image so you can experiment with the DcRaw options, but this depends on Paint.net being able to provide us with the filename of the raw file. see the Known issues for more about this. And finally YES! we will be releasing the source code when the features mentioned above is done.
